Description

Ephemeral communities of tall short-lived plants growing on nutrient-rich muds (deposited in their margins by rivers draining a large, densely populated by humans or intensively cultivated watershed) emerged during summertime low water.

Protection

Protected by the EU Habitat Directive under the code 3270 ("Rivers with muddy banks with Chenopodion rubri p.p. and Bidention p.p. vegetation").

Relations with other habitat types

These communities may eventually be outcompeted by Q51x, unless the frequency of sufficiently violent floods becomes too high. EUNIS stopping at level III, a regional level IV was created for the sake of consistency.
