Relations with other habitat types

Occupies wetter, shadier and nutrient-richer sites, and has a longer flowering season than V10X and V10Z, being also poorer in neophytes. The short life-stories of the constituent species enable the allocation of their production not into robust, competitive vegetative systems but into abundant, highly-dispersive seeds (increasing the probability of arriving at new clearings), leading to their predominance in recently or frequently disturbed areas (originally by trampling or rooting by large animals, by tilling ever since the Neolithic).
