Overview

A relict species isolated from its main distribution in the Alps, with genetic affinity to populations from the Maritime Alps, from where it likely expanded (Pittet et al. 2025. https://doi.org/10.3389/fpls.2025.1507275). The Cantabrian populations described as microspecies lack morphological or genetic support.
