Crocus nudiflorus

New search

Overview

Readily distinguished from Crocus serotinus, the other autumn-flowering regional Crocus (with which it may produce occasional sterile hybrids, described as C. asturicus), by the glabrous throat, the snow-white stamen filaments and the generally longer flower tube, as well as by the fact that C. nudiflorus, as indicated in its name, flowers before the appearance of the leaves.
